Small Employer COR™ Certification

COR:Certificate of Recognition logoThe Small Employer COR™ Certification program is a process whereby a company develops and implements an effective safety and health system.

The SECOR is designed to provide small employer contractors with 10 or less employees with the practical solutions for a safer workplace; offering a simple, straightforward approach to safety, helping reduce the human and financial losses implicated with accidents.

Achievement of your Small Employer COR™ Certification will include completion of required training; implementation of your safety program; and verification NCSA standards are met.

Upon registration into the Small Employer COR™ Certification program, your company will receive a registration number, which demonstrates your company’s commitment into a registered safety program as well as a CD which will assist you in personalizing your company safety manual.

Modules

Simplified Safety

  • Provide contractors with practical solutions for developing and implementing an effective safety and health system, aiding you to meet your legal responsibilities of the Workplace Safety & Health Act.
  • Provide each employer with a complete and fully finished company safety manual that includes personalized policies, forms, and checklists. Your personalized safety manual, and course content, will revolve around the implementation of three basic elements:
    • Identification of Hazards (both existing and potential)
    • Communication of Hazards (tell others about them
    • Control of Hazards (to control or reduce the risk)
  • Mandatory for company owner and/or the most senior company representatives

WHMIS Train the Trainer

  • Qualify participants to conduct a generic WHMIS training program and give them the knowledge to develop a basic site-specific program. By legislation, all workers working with, or in the proximity, of a controlled product are required to receive training.

First Aider I/CPR

  • Company must have adequate First Aid coverage for their workforce according to the Workplace Safety and Health Legislation.

CSTS CD Rom

  • Construction Safety Training System (Safe-T-Disc) interactive computer-based program. Provides overview and general orientation to construction. *Recommended but not required.
